Job Description:
Campus Adventures Staffing Solutions is currently sourcing SPED Certified Substitute Teachers for public charter schools in the Harlingen (RGV) area.
This role may include long-term or daily substitute opportunities based on campus needs and candidate availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction aligned with provided lesson plans and IEP accommodations
- Support students with academic, behavioral, and functional needs
- Maintain a structured, safe, and supportive classroom environment
- Implement behavior management strategies and reinforcement systems
- Adapt instruction and materials based on student needs
- Collaborate with teachers, aides, and campus staff
- Track student progress and communicate updates as needed
- Ensure compliance with all SPED-related requirements and expectations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
- Special Education Certification (Required)
- Dyslexia Certification (Preferred, not required)
- Previous experience working in SPED classrooms strongly preferred
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Ability to work with students across various grade levels and abilities
- Ability to pass a background check (up to $50 non-refundable fee)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Ability to remain active for extended periods (up to 8 hours)
- Ability to kneel, crouch, and move quickly when needed
- Ability to visually and audibly monitor students and respond in emergencies
- Ability to perform CPR if required
