What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Technician position at Campora Propane?
What You’ll Do
- Install propane tanks and related equipment in full compliance with NFPA 58/54 and all state/local regulations.
- Complete any required state licensing, certifications, and ongoing training.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections (DVIR) and maintain your truck in excellent working condition.
- Complete accurate service orders, documentation, and parts billing each day.
- Provide seasonal delivery support by operating a delivery vehicle when needed.
- Report any incidents or safety concerns immediately to the General Manager.
- Work in varied outdoor conditions and participate in an on‑call rotation as business needs require.
What You’ll Actually Do in Your First 30 Days
- Shadow a senior technician to learn our safety standards, installation methods, and customer service expectations.
- Complete onboarding training for CDL endorsements, propane safety, and state-specific compliance requirements.
- Begin performing supervised tank installations and equipment servicing to build proficiency with EDP processes.
- Learn our service order and documentation systems to complete work independently and accurately.
Must Haves
- Class A OR B CDL
- Tanker and Hazmat endorsements (or ability to obtain quickly)
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.

TSA Clearance Approved Hazardous Materials
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and participate in after-hours on‑call rotation
Nice to Haves
- 2–3 years of experience in propane, HVAC, or related technical work
- Familiarity with propane systems, NFPA standards, and industry regulations
- Technical aptitude and willingness to learn propane installation practices
- Strong customer communication and professional presence
- Basic computer skills for service orders and documentation

Pay Rate for this role is $32-35 hourly (depending on experience)
