Position Summary
We are seeking a flexible, dependable, and nurturing Floater Teacher to join our team. The Floater provides classroom coverage across multiple age groups — from infants to preschool — ensuring a safe, supportive, and educational environment. This role requires adaptability, strong communication skills, and a passion for working with children.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide classroom coverage during teacher breaks, absences, or planning periods
- Assist in implementing daily routines and lesson plans in multiple classrooms
- Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment
- Supervise and engage children in developmentally appropriate activities
- Support transitions such as arrivals, meals, naps, and outdoor play
- Follow established classroom routines to ensure continuity for children
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and administrators
- Attend staff meetings and professional development as required
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework preferred
- Prior experience working with children in a licensed childcare setting preferred
- Ability to work with multiple age groups and adjust quickly to classroom needs
- Knowledge of child development and positive behavior guidance strategies
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Must be dependable, adaptable, and team-oriented
- Ability to lift 40 pounds and meet the physical demands of working with children
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.00 - $14.50 per hour
