About CampCDA

CampCDA is Coeur d'Alene's premier camping resort, offering guests a full outdoor experience with access to on-site recreation and beautiful North Idaho lake life. We maintain a high-quality facility that requires skilled, hands-on maintenance throughout the year. From campground infrastructure to RV electrical systems to seasonal projects, our Facilities Maintenance Technician is essential to keeping our operation running smoothly.

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining all aspects of CampCDA's physical plant, including campground facilities, RV electrical systems, equipment, and grounds. This is a hands-on position combining preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, equipment operation, and seasonal projects. The ideal candidate is a versatile handyman with intermediate electrical knowledge and experience in plumbing, carpentry, and equipment maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on campground facilities, buildings, structures, and utilities to keep them operational and in good condition.
  • Troubleshoot and repair RV electrical systems at individual sites, including power pedestals, connections, and basic circuitry issues.
  • Perform plumbing repairs including fixture installation, leak repairs, and basic troubleshooting of water systems.
  • Perform carpentry work including framing, drywall installation and repair, and general building maintenance.
  • Maintain, service, and repair all equipment used to operate the campground, including golf carts, riding lawn mowers, chainsaws, weed eaters, tractors, and small engines.
  • Perform grounds maintenance including mowing, trimming, landscaping, seasonal cleanup, and debris removal.
  • Execute seasonal projects such as winterization, summerization, facility upgrades, and special construction or renovation work during off-peak seasons.
  • Assist with peak season maintenance demands by helping with repairs, cleaning, and general facility upkeep as needed.
  • Complete work orders in a timely and efficient manner, following all safety standards and company procedures.
  • Report maintenance concerns to management and provide updates on ongoing projects and equipment status.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies in an organized manner and monitor supply needs.

Qualifications

  • Proven hands-on experience in multiple maintenance disciplines: carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and equipment maintenance.
  • Intermediate electrical knowledge, particularly with 120/240V RV pedestals and site electrical service issues.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and facility systems independently.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and small engine equipment; knowledge of safe operation required.
  • Experience operating and maintaining various equipment such as lawn mowers, tractors, chainsaws, and similar outdoor power tools.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade certification(s) or vocational training a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards and procedures.
  • RV park or campground maintenance experience preferred.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly and move heavy equipment and materials.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
  • Ability to work at heights on ladders and lifts, and in confined spaces as needed.
  • Willing and able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays during peak season.
  • Capable of responding to emergency maintenance situations as needed.

Compensation and Schedule

This is a full-time, year-round position. Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications. Peak season (typically summer months) will require increased hours and focus on grounds maintenance and guest-facing repairs.
