Position Summary
A full-time health care provider at the Campbell University Health Center has a primary responsibility to provide health care to students, employees, and community patients at the Campbell University Health Center and any other Campbell health facility providing acute care, primary care, chronic management and skilled services.
The position requires a physician assistant or nurse practitioner degree from an accredited school, a current license to practice medicine in North Carolina and a DEA number. The healthcare provider should be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within adult and geriatric medicine and knowledge of electronic medical records. Provider will work the scope of practice and in the permitted to perform, as defined by education, training, certifications and licensing.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Work under a “Supervisory Arrangement” with a NC licensed physician employed by Campbell University.
- Provide acute and chronic care to patients in an outpatient medical office setting.
- Demonstrate an active and consistent commitment to the mission of Campbell University.
- Participate in committees as assigned.
- Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Examine and treat residents of skilled/long-term care facilities.
- Examine and treat members of a family, regardless of age or sex.
- Ensure proper injury care, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment and management.
- Create timely, accurate documentation in the medical record of patient history, findings from physical examination, test results, diagnosis, plan of care, treatment, and outcome.
- Track and submit billing information with coding appropriate to level of care provided.
- Prescribe and administer medications.
- Provide advice regarding personal health and hygiene.
- Order necessary tests and follow-up visits.
- Refer patients to specialists.
- Adhere to the supervisory arrangement established with the supervising physician.
- Participate in education of nursing home staff as well as health professional students.
- Requires up to 32 hours per week at a local, designated skilled care facility.
- Requires attendance at events within the University setting.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.

- A degree in Physician Assistant studies or Nurse Practitioner studies from a college accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs or its predecessor or successor agencies.
- A valid medical license or ability to obtain North Carolina licensure.
- A valid DEA Number or ability to obtain a valid DEA number.
- Appropriate board eligible status or board certification
- Be a member in good standing in all appropriate professional and governmental organizations.
- Experienced medical provider for adult and geriatric age groups
- Experience with electronic medical records
