This position will continue and grow current programming (Camels L.E.A.D., Campbell MADE, Summer Bridge), as well as create new programming that will improve the personal and professional development of student-athletes.

Position Summary
The Director for Student-Athlete Development is responsible for the creation of programming that will enhance the student-athlete experience focused on personal, professional and leadership development, transitioning to Campbell, throughout their time at Campbell and transitioning into professional lives beyond Campbell. This position will continue and grow current programming (Camels L.E.A.D., Campbell MADE, Summer Bridge), as well as create new programming that will improve the personal and professional development of student-athletes.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Responsible for the development and implementation of educational programs for all student-athletes that are designed to grow and prepare them for success while in college and after graduation in the core areas of career/professional development, leadership development, and personal development.
- Serve as a learning support specialist for a select population of student-athletes by providing individualized academic coaching, developing learning strategies, and implementing interventions designed to improve academic performance and promote student success.
- Responsible for the Camels LEAD and Campbell MADE programming as well as the creation of new programing that will improve the personal and professional development of student athletes
- Responsible for the Summer Bridge programing
- Serve as Chairperson for the DEI Committee and responsible for DEI programming/education/training for staff and student-athletes
- Responsible for the oversight of the Student-Athlete Advocacy Committee and collaborate with athletic department personnel on other key areas of professional development for student-athletes.
- Assist in the educational component of NIL to student-athletes
- Serve as the primary liaison for community service initiatives for student-athletes and collaborate with athletic department personnel on other key areas of community service projects for student-athletes
- Collaborate with other University constituents and seek out potential partnerships to enhance services for students and student-athletes
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor or the Director of Athletics.
- Conduct all activities in compliance with NCAA, Big South Conference, Southern Conference, Coastal Collegiate Sports Association and University rules and regulations.
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum of one to three years of Division I Athletic Experience
- Strong knowledge of intercollegiate athletics and NCAA rules/regulations
- Knowledge of learning strategies, academic intervention techniques, and best practices for supporting diverse learners in a higher education environment.
- Communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and attention to detail are essential.
- Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with trustees, faculty, staff, students, high-level university officials and the public.
- Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people.
- Exercise independent judgment in complex and new situations.
- Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet strict deadlines.
- Detail-oriented and willing to work in a changing environment.
- Broad knowledge of Campbell University policies and procedures and FERPA guidelines.
