Position Summary:
This is a full-time entry-level position with on-call hours as necessary. The successful candidate will assist in a variety of maintenance on airfield and landside systems. This position will also require familiarization and certifications as required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) within the airport’s certification manual (ACM) which includes Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF), and Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and Part 139 certification. The Airport’s Security Program (ASP) as required by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and become a Certified Weather Observer.
Pay Grade: 105/108
Qualifications
Experience: One or more years of experience in general maintenance, repair, or aviation work. Prefer one or more years as an Airport Operations Technician I, or equivalent experience in a related field within the airport industry. Required Education/ Training: Equivalent to a high school diploma supplemented by specialized training or on the job training in one or more of the following areas: construction, building maintenance, vehicle maintenance, grounds maintenance, or aviation work. Preferred certifications include Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) and a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Must obtain specified license and certifications within a specified time limit. Pre-employment driving record and background check required as well as random drug testing.
Special Requirements
Working Environment: Considerable exposure to extreme cold, heat, noise, working outdoors, vibration, confining workspace, chemicals, explosive materials, mechanical, and electrical hazards. Availability for emergency call. Physical Activities: Essential functions require maintaining physical condition necessary for significant physical activity such as standing, walking, running, kneeling, crouching/stooping/squatting, crawling, twisting upper body, climbing, and lifting an average of 60 lbs.
