Track-Head Coach-Boys for 2025-26

TITLE:            Head Coach                                                               

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Any combination equivalent to a high school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate, a minimum of 64 semester hours from an accredited college or university and one year of experience coaching in a school athletic program.
2. Successful completion of a criminal records check, AIDS awareness training, current certification in first aid and CPR.
3. Knowledge in fundamentals of various sports, health and safety regulations.
4. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.
5. Assist coaches in one or more sports.
6. Understand and follow oral and written directions.
7. Read, interpret, apply, and explain rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

REPORTS TO:         

JOB GOAL:   Coach in various secondary school interscholastic athletic programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Promote sports in the schools and community.
2. Plan the assigned athletic program.
3. Organize and supervise practices.
4. Teach individual fundamental skills, team play, team strategy and rules and regulations of the game.
5. Teach good sportsmanship and self-control.
6. Check eligibility of participants, including insurance coverage and parent consent.
7. Provide students a proper role model, emotional support, patience, a friendly attitude and general guidance.
8. Conduct learning experiences, with small groups of student athletes.
9. Recommend the purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as appropriate for the health, safety, and welfare of student athletes.
10. Perform related duties as assigned.

            Work schedule to be established.  (See Board approved scheduling.)

            Salary as established by the Board of Education.
