Role Summary: We're hiring a freelance Casting, Rehearsal & Launch Lead to manage the full cycle of performer onboarding for two upcoming immersive experiences, from casting and rehearsal planning through launch coaching and performance refinement. This role is ideal for someone with strong theatrical direction experience, a keen eye for talent, and the ability to lead costumed performers through high-energy, family-friendly programming.

You'll be responsible for casting 5–7 mascots and 8–10 immersive performers per location, running rehearsals, and delivering show quality during launch.

Compensation and Time Commitment

• Hourly Rate: $32/hour

Timeline & Deliverables

SHOW 1

Casting

~20 hours (On site & Remote)

• Remote auditions as needed
• Coordinate remote audition process with Camp casting team and General Manager
• Select and confirm ~5–7 mascot performers and ~8–10 immersive performers
• Track and oversee contract finalization and onboarding with Camp HR
• Align with internal team on performer needs, training schedule, and show timeline
  
  

Prep & Alignment (Remote)

~20 hours

• Review all show materials (scripts, choreography, creative briefs)
• Finalize rehearsal plan and performer communications Confirm venue-specific requirements and align with production team
  
  

Rehearsals (On Site)

~45 hours

• Lead in-person rehearsals with immersive character coaching and scene work
• Set up local Company Managers and venue team for success post-rehearsal
• Provide detailed feedback and notes on blocking, timing, and interaction
• Support planning and flow of pre-launch "friends & family" previews and media events
  
  

Launch Support (Remote/Light On-Cal)

~5–10 hours

• Remain on-call remotely for notes, virtual check-ins, and performer coaching
• Optional: one-day visit during live show period if feasible
  
  

SAME SHOW - DIFFERENT LOCATION

Casting

• Coordinate remote or local auditions with Camp team and General Manager
• Select and confirm ~5–7 mascots and ~8–10 immersive performers
• Track contracts, onboarding, and scheduling with Camp HR
  
  

Prep and Alignment (Remote/Light On-Call)

~10 hours

• Confirm final rehearsal schedule and venue readiness
• Align with local Company Manager and production teams
  
  

Rehearsals (On-Site)

~45 hours

• Conduct in-person rehearsals with immersive performer coaching
• Train and delegate to on-site Company Managers for post-launch needs
• Support staging for press and "friends & family" events
  
  

Launch Week (On site)

~48 hours

• Deliver on-site coaching and performance direction
• Adjust live performance based on guest response and real-time flow Ensure continuity and excellence across all cast and crew
  
  

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle casting: sourcing, evaluating, onboarding performers
• Lead rehearsals and prepare casts for opening
• Deliver on-site support during initial operation phase
• Act as the central performance quality lead for both locations
• Manage performer communications and administrative flow
