Camp Door Monitor

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for maintaining constant surveillance of the camp entrances/exits/hallways and surrounding area. Greet visitors and report potential hazards to the Camp Director.

POSITION SUMMARY:

▪ Monitor entrances of Before/After-School Programs.

▪ Responsible for ensuring parents “sign-in” and “sign-out” their children daily.

▪ Prevent individuals from entering the building without approval.

▪ Prevent children from leaving the building without permission.

▪ Assist parents/guardians in picking up children.

▪ Communicate effectively with parents, supervisors, students, and school leadership.

▪ Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Reports to the Camp Administration.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications

▪ High School Diploma or GED

▪ 2 years of experience in a security position preferred

▪ Crisis, Prevention, and Intervention Training preferred

Required orientation within five days of hire:

▪ Review the camp’s Emergency Action Plan and the school’s Emergency Codes and Procedures.

▪ Abusive Head Trauma video (successfully completed)

▪ Child Maltreatment Training Video (successfully completed and renewed every two years)

▪ Mandated Reporter Training (successfully completed and renewed every two years)

▪ DPI Medication Training Video (successfully completed, demonstrates skill every year, and renewed every four years)

▪ A Registry Profile linked to the assigned Camp Program

Required training within 120 days / four months of hire:

▪ Current CPR/AED certification (successfully completed and renewed CPR/AED certification

▪ Abusive Head Trauma Class (successfully completed)

▪ Ability to solve problems effectively.

▪ Ability to communicate effectively with parents, staff, and children (ages 3-12 years).

▪ Possess qualities of patience, flexibility, understanding, acceptance, and caring.

▪ Enjoy working with children.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
