About the Role - Health Center Staff:
As a Camp Nurse at Camp Timberlane, you’ll provide compassionate, professional care for our campers and staff in our on-site health center, featuring private nurse rooms and dedicated isolation capacity. Your role will combine clinical skill with empathy and presence, offering daily medication administration, triage, and first aid, while also managing communication with parents. You’ll maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with camp medical protocols. Beyond direct care, you’ll take an active role in health education and prevention, encouraging hydration, sun safety, hygiene, and overall wellness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily health care services to campers and staff, including assessment, treatment, and follow-up.
- Manage and dispense medications in accordance with physician and parent instructions.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
- Respond calmly and effectively to medical emergencies or injuries.
- Communicate with parents, physicians, and camp leadership regarding camper health concerns.
- Support a healthy, positive camp environment through preventive care and health education.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) (active license required).
- Experience in pediatrics, school nursing, emergency, or community health preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small medical team.
- Willingness to live and work in a camp setting
- A passion for youth development and outdoor living.
