Organization Overview:
Camp Summit is a one-of-a-kind camp for individuals with disabilities where the emphasis is on each camper’s abilities rather than their disabilities. Traditional camp activities are adapted to each individual, provided in our barrier-free facilities, and implemented by trained, caring staff. Our campers are grouped by age, providing the opportunity to make friends within peer groups while having fun and experiencing new adventures.
Camp Summit’s administrative offices are in Dallas, Texas. Our camp is in Paradise, Texas, just north of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex on 460 acres of land. We are accredited by the American Camp Association and licensed as a Youth Camp in the State of Texas.
Position Summary:
The Donor Relations Manager plays a pivotal role in the efficient functioning of our development office by placing the experience of donors at Camp Summit as a top priority. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational skills, strong writing skills, project management experience, attention to detail, and will have a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities.
Responsibilities:
Gift Processing:
· Oversee the accurate and timely processing of donations, ensuring all gifts are recorded and acknowledged promptly.
· Collaborate with finance and development teams to reconcile donations and maintain accurate financial records.
Donor Management System Administration:
· Manage the donor database, including data entry, maintenance, and reporting.
· Generate reports and analyze data to inform fundraising strategies and decision-making.
· Coordinate the acknowledgment process for donors, including personalized thank-you letters, emails, and other communications.
Annual Fund & Special Events
· Alongside the Director of Development, help shape quarterly calendars and help monitor execution of mailings and other appeals
· Be the project lead on our appeals, meaning creating letter drafts, email solicitations, and other content
· In collaboration with the Marketing Manager, assist in the planning and execution of North Texas Giving Day, including appeal messaging and content creation for emails.
· Alongside the Special Events Manager, write timely thank-yous for corporate event sponsors, and survey and follow up with them to see whether Camp Summit is helping them meet their community social responsibility goals.
· Alongside the Special Events Manager, actively solicit items throughout the year for use in our silent auctions and raffles.
· Manage the first-time donor program and track its effectiveness in producing repeat donors
· Manage and grow Ascent, our recurring giving program, over the next 2–3 years.
· Assist in special projects and initiatives as needed to support fundraising goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and compellingly.
· Proven experience in development operations, donor relations, or nonprofit administration.
· Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
· Proficiency with donor databases or CRM systems, along with online resources and other digital tools.
· General understanding of basic accounting preferred
