Individuals applying for this position could be considered for Overnight camp weeks in the Evenings for dinner. We are in need of cooks (Must have Food Manager Certificate)
Position to start in early June and end in early August
Qualifications:
- Maturity and adaptability in all situations.
- Ability to work under supervision of acting Manager in cooperative efficient manner.
- Ability to handle camper behaviors.
- The following experience is helpful: Working with people who have special needs/developmental disabilities, camping, and recreation.
- Trained or willing to train in CPR/ First Aid Certification and Food Handler's License.
Camp New Hope is a year-round recreational experience for Special Needs individuals ages eight and above. Camp New Hope hosts many programs for individuals to enjoy experiences with their friends. We build long-lasting memories and friendships while caregivers can enjoy a break from their caregiving responsibilities. Camp New Hope lies on 41 rolling acres on the shores of Lake Mattoon. Year after year, our campers enjoy the excitement of fishing and pontoon boat rides on the lake, train rides around our trails, swimming in our pool, playing on our playground and mini golf course, games, crafts, and more.
Responsibilities include:
- Follow direction of supervisor and leadership staff and work effectively as a team member with other staff.
- Assist in meal planning, ordering, and accepting delivery of food.
- Maintain all IDPH regulations for the prep, storage, and serving of food.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean environment by keeping all food areas sanitized
- Properly, adequately, and continuously monitor campers under your supervision, and take responsibility for assisting with their comfort and ensuring their safety. Follow all safety, emergency, and health regulations.
- Responsible for assisting with all dietary needs e.g. Gluten free, Diabetic, thickened, pureed.
- Follow all camp policies and procedures.
- Must be able to cross-train and complete other duties as assigned.
The position is located in Neoga Illinois. The positions offered are seasonal Summer Jobs, due to start early June and end the beginning of August 2024. There may be part time work available September - April but no guarantee to any applicant to continue past the seasonal date.
