Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Camp Counselor located at Camp NAC in Newtown, PA. Camp Counselors are responsible for supervising and engaging with campers, organizing and leading activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants, and fostering an inclusive and supportive camp environment. Counselors are role models who build strong relationships with campers, promote teamwork, and facilitate daily programs aimed at fostering fun, learning, and personal growth. Additional duties may include assisting in specialty areas like swimming or sports.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a camp environment or with children in a similar setting
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with campers, team members, and families
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with both children and adults
- Certification in CPR or First Aid or a willingness to obtain certification prior to the start of camp
- Background in education, childcare, or youth programs is a plus
- Enthusiasm, creativity, and the ability to motivate and mentor children
- Ability to remain patient, energetic, and attentive in a fast-paced, active environment
