Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Horse Care: Feeding, watering, grooming, and cleaning stalls (mucking).
- Turnout/Turn-in: Assisting with turning horses out to pasture and bringing them in.
- Facility Maintenance: Keeping the barn and surrounding areas clean and organized. This may include sweeping, raking, and maintaining paddocks.
- Tack and Equipment: Cleaning and maintaining tack and equipment.
- Health Monitoring: Observing horses for any signs of illness or injury and reporting to the appropriate person.
- Assisting with Veterinary/Farrier Care: Helping with appointments and procedures.
- General Barn Chores: This may include stocking feed, cleaning waterers, and other tasks as needed.
- Following Instructions: Accurately following feeding and care instructions provided by the barn manager.
- Maintaining Safety: Ensuring the safety of the horses, themselves, and others in the barn.
