Medical Coordinator - Summer Camp

Camp Korey is more than a camp. It’s a place where kids with life-altering medical conditions can just be kids, entirely free of charge. Every year, thousands of campers and family members gather in a community of people with shared experiences to sing, dance, laugh, grow, and discover their potential in a medically safe and adaptable environment. Here, campers with 90 diagnoses can take a true break from being “patients” and rediscover the joy of being a kid.

The Summer Camp Medical Coordinator supports the Nursing Director and medical staff during Camp Korey's summer camp season, ensuring campers, staff, and volunteers receive safe, well-organized medical care. This role takes on multiple duties including keeping the medical center stocked and organized, supporting camper health documentation, and pitching in wherever needed to keep camp running smoothly. This is forward facing role directly interacting with and supporting campers and families when not otherwise tasked with medical needs.

This role starts July 26th 2026 and ends on September 1st 2026.

The primary role of the Summer Camp Medical Coordinator:

• Aid in ensuring the safety, health, and well-being of campers and their families, staff, and volunteers at Camp Korey when camp is in session and during on-site programming

• Assist the Nursing Director in maintaining inventory and organization of the medical center and medical equipment on camp property

• Serve as a resource to summer staff nurses and medical volunteers during camp programming

• Be on-site Sunday–Thursday during summer camp

Program Responsibilities

• Maintain appropriate records of medication distribution, medical treatments, and medical procedures

• Ensure the confidentiality of all medical information and records for campers, staff, and volunteers

• Act as a liaison with relevant camp staff regarding campers' diagnoses, care, and treatment to help ensure a healthy and safe environment for all campers

• Prepare and distribute medical supplies to program areas and cabins (first aid kits, backboards, etc.)

• Help load, organize, and stock the pharmacy

• Run medications in a float capacity, delivering orders as needed (not responsible for assessing or prescribing or distributing)

• Complete pre- and post-camp equipment checks, including first aid kits, AEDs, O2 tanks, backboards, and other medical equipment

• Assists with printing and assembling weekly camper binders and spreadsheets

• Assists with weekly data entry to track medication administration and interventions

• Support check-in/check-out day operations, serving as a runner as needed

• Assist with medical volunteer orientation which may include leading camp tours and distributing lanyards and walkies to volunteers

• Assist with the maintenance of onboarding materials and virtual platforms

• Build and maintain tracking spreadsheets for medical interventions

Qualifications & Competencies

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

• Strong organizational and administrative abilities

• Weekend and evening work required

• Highly motivated team player who finds working with children to be rewarding
