What are the responsibilities and job description for the Language Arts Teacher 6th-12th Grade position at Camp Jewell?
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English or a related field
- Master’s degree in Education or English(often preferred or required for high school)
- Completion of a state-approved teacher preparation program
Certification & Licensing
- Valid state teaching license or certification for grades 6–12
- Passing scores on required state exams (e.g., Praxis, CSET, or other)
- Background check and fingerprint clearance
Content Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of middle and high school math concepts (e.g., Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Statistics)
- Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners, including ELLs and students with IEPs
- Proficiency in integrating technology and digital tools into instruction
- Familiarity with Common Core State Standards or state-specific math standards
Teaching Experience
- Prior teaching experience in middle or high school (often required or preferred)
- Experience with classroom management and student engagement strategies
- Experience using assessment data to guide instruction and improve student outcomes

Other Desirable Qualifications
