Duties
- Daily Operations: Oversee all day-to-day store operations, including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, scheduling, and maintaining impeccable standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Compliance: Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding health, safety, food handling (if applicable), and alcohol/tobacco sales
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, motivate, and supervise a small team of retail associates. Foster a positive, collaborative, and customer-first work environment.
- Inventory & Merchandising: Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and negotiate with local vendors. Design attractive merchandise displays that highlight local goods, seasonal items, and everyday essentials.
- Financial Performance: Drive sales growth, manage operational budgets, control labor costs, and implement strategies to maximize profitability. Monitor daily sales reports and track KPIs.
- Community & Customer Service: Ensure every customer receives warm, friendly, and efficient service. Act as a positive ambassador for the store within the local community.
Requirements
- Experience: 3 years of experience in retail management, convenience store operations, or hospitality management (experience in a rural or independent retail setting is a huge plus).
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage, train, and inspire a team.
- Business Acumen: Strong understanding of retail financials, inventory management, and profit & loss (P&L) tracking.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with Point of Sale (POS) systems, inventory software, and basic office applications (Excel, Word).
- Adaptability: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to wear multiple hats—from handling a rush at the register to unboxing a freight delivery.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 40 lbs, and work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and possible holidays.
Pay: From $52,000.00 per year
