What are the responsibilities and job description for the Camp Nurse position at Camp Interlaken JCC?
The Steve and Shari Sadek Family Camp Interlaken JCC is seeking a qualified, organized, and collaborative Camp Nurse for Summer 2026. RNs, CNAs, and LPNs are all encouraged to apply. Under the supervision of the Camp Director, Camp Nurses work as part of a team of 2-4 nurses and a rotating physician to operate the Camp Health Center and care for the medical needs of both campers and staff.
This is a residential seasonal position located in Eagle River, Wisconsin. Multiple contract length options are available:
Full Summer:
- June 9 – August 11
Half Summer:
- June 9 – July 13
- July 13 – August 11
Shorter Sessions:
- June 9 – June 30
- June 30 – July 13
- July 13 – July 29
- July 29 – August 11

Responsibilities:
Medication & Supplies
- Administer over-the-counter medications to campers and staff per camp protocols.
- Maintain the Health Center supply closet, assist as needed with the Med Shed (camper daily medication), and first aid kits—clean, organized, and fully stocked.
- Communicate supply needs promptly with the Camp Director and Medical Director.
II. Care
- Triage and treat minor injuries for campers and staff (e.g., cuts, scrapes, insect stings).
- Assist physicians during twice-daily Sick Call hours; evaluate and triage additional sick campers throughout the day.
- Provide ongoing care and monitoring for campers or staff staying in the Health Center for extended periods or overnight.
- Communicate thoroughly with the medical team and camp leadership to ensure high-quality care.
- Communicate with campers’ families as outlined in the Health Center Manual.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all consultations, treatments, and referrals.
III. Additional Duties

Qualifications
The ideal candidate:
- Holds a current nursing license (RN, LPN, or CNA) and certifications in CPR, AED, and First Aid.
- Can work effectively with and relate to children of all ages.
