POSITION DESCRIPTIONTeam: Camp HickoryPosition Title: Camp ManagerClassification: Exempt, Full-time (employer providing housing on site)Scheduled Hours Per Week: 40 SUMMARY OF ROLEThis position is responsible for the planning, directing and coordinating of the staff, food service and maintenance of Camp Hickory Conference and Retreat Center. A Christian Camp onwend and operated by the Foursquare Church (denomination). The Camp Manger is responsible to steward the camp facilities to serve ministry the ministry activities and programs of the Foursquare denomination and member churches and other patrons of the camp facility. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Marketing & Administration· Oversee the camp business office including all marketing efforts, event bookings, contracts, insurance documents, invoicing and collections for the camp. · Oversee the creation all camp financials along with the camp council including: monthly Profit and Loss statements, annual camp budgets, budget verses actuals and annual projections.· Serve as primary camp contact for all vendors, customers and county/city agencies.· Supervise all camp staff, independent sub-contractors, vendors, interns and seasonal workers. · Serve as hiring manager for all necessary positions for camp operations, including but not limited to: Kitchen staff, maintenance crew, grounds keeping, hospitality teams, cleaning crews office personnel, bookkeeping etc.).· Work with camp council to determine salary packages for new hires.· Provide tours to potential camp groups and coordinate bookings to maximize the ultilization and financial sustainability of the camp.· Oversee and maintain campus security systems, key fobs, door locks & monitoring.· Work with Foursquare IT and local services to ensure a stable WiFi network for campus ministries and guests.· Facilitate needs for special guests or guests with disabilities. Facility Maintenance & Housekeeping· Ensure the camp facility is maintained and operated in accordance with all safety and health service regulations, requirements and best practices.· Oversee and ensure routine Inspections, maintenance, and improvements to the facilities and grounds of camp. · Schedule & coordinate service and preventive maintenance programs for all mechanical systems, vehicles, trade equipment and facilities. · Ensure the camp complies with all local, state and federal life/safety code regulations. · Responsible to receive, prioritize & initiate work orders for the repair & maintenance of facilities which may include, but not limited to the following tasks: light bulb replacement, painting, caulking, minor roof repair, carpentry, janitorial, minor plumbing, and mechanical system repairs. · Oversee the daily work and event schedules so that maintenance and repairs take place in the least disruptive way to the camp activities, and events. · Support the day-to-day activities of camp programs including: supplying camp resources and activity equipment when requested. · Provide supervision and leadership to seasonal internship programs ensuring compliance with local and federal labor laws.· Provide training and coaching in activity instruction and safety standards.· Oversee cleaning and housekeeping duties for all lodging facilities.· Ensure the maintenance and care of all equipment & systems associated with the swimming pool in compliance with state and county regulations. · Develop systems to produce cost effective approaches to reduce cost and energy usage .· Manage all winter snow and ice removal from roads and walkways. · Ensure that all trees and branches are pruned and maintained to ensure safety of buildings and patrons of the camp, and oversee removal of damaged, fallen or potentially hazardous trees.· Work with direct oversight of National Camp Advisor, camp council, and Foursquare leadership to explore other possibilities for the use of the resources at camp to further the cause of The Foursquare denomination. Food Service· Oversee qualified kitchen staff to provide quality food service for all dining services needs.· Ensure that kitchen and food service equipment is maintained and inspected in compliance with health and safety standards.· Oversee kitchen staff to develop menus and strategies to minimize waste and ensure good stewardship over food service costs while ensuring high quality and guest satisfaction.· Other duties and projects as assigned by Supervisor. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CAPABILITIES· Demonstrates humility and a growth mindset with an attitude of servant-leadership; placing serving over being served and collaboration over individualization· At least 4 years of management-level experience in maintenance, hospitality and/or event management in large venues· A minimum of 3 years experience in the food service industry (cafeteria, restaurant or catering).· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, clear communicator· Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team· Organized, self-starter with a positive attitude· Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multi-task, create timelines and meet project deadlines; attention to detail· Adaptable and able to learn quickly· Experienced with Office 365 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust have the ability to sit for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity of fingers, hands and wrists; see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the phone; have the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds.
Salary : $65,000 - $77,000
