What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aquatics Director Summer Camp Temporary position at Camp Green Cove?
Looking for an Aquatics Director for our Summer Camp for just 1 month this summer! Dates are May 21st to June 19th. Beautiful mountain lake setting in Western North Carolina. Camp Green Cove is an all girls camp that emphasizes outdoor adventure activities.
Responsibilities include:
- Supervise 6-8 staff members, mostly college age, who will be our swimming instructors.
- Teach our instructors how to teach swimming
- Keep an eye on all swimming activities for compliance and safety
- Mentor the staff
- Schedule lessons and fun games in the water
- Schedule a few trips over to our brother camp to use Zipline and rope swing
- Supervise a few long distance swims- no more than half a mile
Requirements for the job:
- At least 1 year of managing either a waterfront or previous Aquatics Director Experience
- Lifeguard Certified, WSI preferred
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must be comfortable swimming and teaching in mountain lake water
Housing and food provided. No pets or spouses. Potential for trades, if you have a camper to bring to camp. Salary DOE.
