Camp Fernwood, a residential summer camp in Maine, is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated instructors to teach at our golf program during summer 2026! (June 19 - August 12).
At Fernwood, they’ll have the incredible chance to teach girls ages 8-15 of all skill levels. The successful candidate will join a vibrant team of 150 staff members from around the world, participating in a fun and engaging seven-week program designed exclusively for girls. Each day is filled with a variety of exciting activities, making it an enriching experience for both campers and instructors alike!
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on teaching experience, enhance your golf skills, and inspire the next generation of young golfers. As a member of the golf program at Camp Fernwood, you’ll play an important role in helping campers grow their confidence and skill on the course. You’ll lead daily lessons focused on golf fundamentals, course management, and technique, while offering personalized instruction and constructive feedback to help each camper improve.
Our golf program consists of:
- Skill Development: Campers will participate in structured lessons focused on key golf skills like grip, stance, swing mechanics, putting, and chipping. Experienced instructors will tailor coaching to each camper’s ability, ensuring steady progress and confidence-building.
- Course Management: Campers will learn the fundamentals of course strategy, including shot selection, reading greens, and navigating obstacles. This practical knowledge encourages decision-making and critical thinking, both on and off the course.
- Practice Drills: In addition to on-course instruction, campers will engage in skill-building drills, focusing on putting greens, driving ranges, and short game practice. These drills help campers fine-tune their technique in a fun and supportive environment.
- Safety & Etiquette: Safety and respect for the game are key aspects of our program. Campers will learn proper golf etiquette, respect for others on the course, and the importance of maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment.
- Friendly Competitions & Events: Throughout the summer, we will host informal tournaments and skills challenges, allowing campers to showcase their improvements and have fun competing. These events help build camaraderie and self-confidence while celebrating their progress.
