Camp Fern Legacy is seeking college students and recent graduates to join our team as Summer Camp Counselors. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on leadership experience, mentor young people, and contribute to a meaningful, high-energy environment rooted in tradition, personal growth, and connection.

About the Role

As a Camp Counselor, you will serve as a mentor, leader, and role model for campers, helping create an environment where they can build confidence, independence, and lasting friendships.

Counselors are integral to the camp experience—leading daily activities, supporting camper development, and contributing to a strong, positive community.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a cabin group of campers alongside co-counselors
• Facilitate daily activities including athletics, outdoor recreation, and creative programs
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment
• Build meaningful relationships with campers and support their personal growth
• Participate in camp-wide events, traditions, and evening programming
• Collaborate with fellow staff to maintain a positive and engaged team culture
• Ensure the safety, well-being, and overall experience of each camper

Qualifications

• Current college student or recent graduate
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Positive, adaptable, and team-oriented mindset
• Interest in leadership, mentorship, education, or youth development
• Ability to be fully engaged in a residential camp setting

About Camp Fern Legacy

Located in the piney woods of East Texas, Camp Fern Legacy is a traditional overnight summer camp with a modern focus on leadership, character development, and community. Our programs are designed to help campers grow in confidence, build lifelong friendships, and develop skills that extend far beyond the summer.
