The Assistant Director at Camp Crestridge plays a key role in building a Christ-centered summer staff team by recruiting, developing, and discipling college-aged women. This role is not just about filling positions—it’s about calling and equipping young women to serve in camp ministry and impact campers with the Gospel.


We’re looking for someone who understands the unique rhythm and influence of camp life, has a heart for investing in people, and is passionate about raising up strong counselors who will lead and disciple campers well. The ideal candidate brings prior camp experience, thrives in relational environments, and is motivated to build a high-quality team that strengthens the ministry of Camp Crestridge.

Requirements

  What You’ll Do

Lead Summer Staff Recruiting & Hiring

  • Lead the full summer staff recruiting process—from identifying and engaging candidates to hiring and onboarding
  • Recruit, engage, and call college students into summer staff roles through relationships, campus partnerships, and      intentional outreach
  • Plan and execute recruiting trips; travel (limited) with and coach interns in effective, relational recruiting
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with college ministries, campus leaders, and key influencers
  • Set recruiting goals, track progress, and adjust strategy to meet staffing needs for a successful summer

Develop & Lead Recruiting Interns

  • Train, coach, and disciple recruiting interns as they grow in leadership and recruiting effectiveness
  • Equip interns to conduct interviews and represent Camp Crestridge with clarity and authenticity
  • Provide regular feedback, encouragement, and accountability

Strengthen Recruiting Presence

  • Create and manage content that reflects the heart, culture, and impact of Camp Crestridge
  • Ensure the recruiting website and staff materials are clear, compelling, and aligned with our mission

Support Summer Camp Operations & Ministry

  • During the summer, step into an active leadership role supporting day-to-day camp operations, programming, and staff      leadership
  • Invest in summer staff through presence, encouragement, and spiritual leadership throughout the camp season

What Success Looks Like

  • A fully staffed team of mission-aligned,high-quality counselors and program staff
  • A strong pipeline of college students who are excited about and committed to camp ministry
  • Interns who grow in confidence, ownership, and effectiveness as recruiters and leaders
  • Summer staff who feel personally called, prepared, and supported as they serve

Basic Qualifications

  • A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with our statement of faith
  • Experience serving on summer camp staff or in camp ministry (multiple summers strongly preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting, mentoring, or leading college-aged students
  • Strong relational and communication skills—you connect easily and build trust quickly
  • Ability to travel for recruiting trips and work flexible hours, especially during peak seasons
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities and timelines
  • Comfortable training, coaching, and developing others
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and social media platforms 
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet physical demands of camp environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading in a camp, college ministry, or similar discipleship-focused environment
  • Proven ability to recruit or build teams of college students or young adults
  • Experience creating engaging content that tells a compelling story
  • Familiarity with tracking recruiting progress and adjusting strategy as needed

A Few Things to Know

  • This role requires a high level of relational investment and flexibility
  • Recruiting seasons include some travel and time on college campuses, the majority of the travel is done by interns
  • Summers are fast-paced, highly relational, and deeply rewarding
