Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Summer Camp Manager to oversee our seasonal summer camp program. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, experience working with children, and a passion for creating a safe, engaging, and fun environment. This candidate would be able to provide physical, social, and spiritual needs of the children in our care. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team of counselors and coordinate diverse activities that promote childhood development, creativity, spiritual growth and teamwork. The Summer Camp Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for parents, staff, and campers, ensuring a positive and enriching summer experience for all participants.

The Camp Manager will work with campers and counselors and act as role models in creating fun, memorable summer experiences. The Camp Manager is responsible for the overall management, coordination, and supervision of all camp operations. This role ensures the camp runs efficiently, safely, and in accordance with organizational policies. The Camp Manager oversees staff, minor logistics, and campers welfare to maintain a high standard of service and a safe, supportive environment.
Supervise and assist with daily camp activities including sports, arts, theater, swimming, field trips and camp activities.
Manage and train camp staff and volunteers to ensure effective classroom management and behavior management strategies are implemented
Ensure the safety of all campers by enforcing safety protocols and maintaining a secure environment
Provide first aid when necessary and respond promptly to emergencies in accordance with health and safety guidelines
Foster an inclusive atmosphere that supports children with special needs or those requiring additional attention such as special education or childcare considerations
Communicate regularly with parents regarding camper progress, behavior, and camp updates
Lead by example in promoting Christian counseling values or other relevant philosophies aligned with camp programming
Oversee daily operations including meal times, rest periods, and transportation arrangements if applicable
Maintain accurate records related to attendance, incidents, and program evaluations
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, tutoring, or camp environments
- Strong classroom management skills along with experience in behavior management techniques
- Certification in first aid and CPR is highly desirable; willingness to obtain certification if not already certified
- Background in early childhood education or special education is preferred
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Excellent communication skills to interact with children, parents, staff, and community partners
- Experience in sports coaching, babysitting, theater arts, or other extracurricular activities is a plus
- Ability to develop engaging activities that support childhood development and foster creativity
- Passion for working with youth in a summer camp setting with a focus on safety, fun, and educational growth
Pay: $16.79 - $17.79 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
