Situated on the campus of Perimeter Church in Duluth, GA, CAA provides a safe and unique environment for children. With five specialized camps for ages 5–14 and a Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program for high school students, CAA offers unmatched sports and adventure experiences. The camp’s highly trained counselors and exceptional facilities ensure an unforgettable summer for every child.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Duluth, GA, for a Summer Camp Counselor. The Summer Camp Counselor will be responsible for leading and engaging with campers in various sports, adventure, and Gospel-centered activities. Daily tasks include supervising and ensuring the safety of campers, fostering an inclusive and positive environment, guiding group discussions, assisting with camp operations, and actively supporting the camp’s mission and values. Counselors are a part of DGroups lead by camp leadership as a part of our desire to develop and disciple our staff while with us. Our work hours are M-F from 8 am to 4:30 pm with mandatory staff environments each Thursday event from 6 pm to 8:30 pm.
Purpose
To support the mission of Camp All American by embodying our 5 Critical Moves: Excellent Ambassador, Engaged all day, Focus on facilitation, Gospel throughout, and Holistically safe.
Qualifications
- Counselors must be 18 years old before the summer OR a rising freshman in college
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster positive camper and co-counselor relationships
- Experience in working with children
- Ability to be a positive role model, coachable, and contribute to a team environment
- Availability for 8 of our 10 weeks (May 18th training week, summer runs from May 26th to July 31st)
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is NOT required but beneficial
