What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp Nurse position at Camp Aldersgate?
Spend your summer making a real difference in the lives of children and young adults at Aldersgate Camp and Retreat Center. We are looking for a compassionate and attentive Registered Nurse to help care for our camp community throughout the summer season.
The Camp Nurse is an essential part of camp life, supporting the health and well-being of campers and staff through medication administration, first aid, health checks, and responding to illness and injury when needed. Just as important, the nurse helps create a sense of safety, care, and calm that allows campers to fully experience the joy and growth that camp offers.
The typical schedule is 7:30am–8:30pm, but camp nursing includes significant downtime throughout the day for breaks, rest, and enjoying the camp environment while remaining available if needed. Room and board may also be provided as part of the position.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, thrives in a community environment, and wants a summer filled with meaningful work, connection, and purpose. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and hold a current Rhode Island RN license, or be able to obtain licensure before the start of employment.
If you are looking for a summer where your work matters every single day, we would love to hear from you.
