What are the responsibilities and job description for the Communications/PR Intern position at Camp Aldersgate, Inc.?
Camp Aldersgate is looking for a Communications Intern to join our team this summer. This role is a great fit for a student who enjoys being creative, wants hands-on experience in nonprofit communications, and is excited to learn by doing. This is a paid internship.
Internship Details
- June 1 – July 31
- Approximately 40 hours per week
What you’ll be working on
- Supporting Camp Aldersgate’s communications efforts across platforms
- Creating visual content, including weekly slideshows and graphics
- Helping manage social media and create content
- Assisting with blog writing and basic content editing
- Following brand guidelines and meeting deadlines
- Conducting research and light market analysis
- Helping with administrative tasks as needed
What we’re looking for
- Currently enrolled in a degree program related to marketing, communications, graphic design, journalism, public relations, or a similar field
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Familiarity with major social media platforms and how they’re used
- Basic understanding of graphic design principles (layout, typography, etc.)
- Experience using Canva or similar design tools
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office
Preferred, but not required
- Prior experience creating or managing social media content
- Experience designing in Canva
- Knowledge of AP Style
- Experience with video editing tools like Premiere Pro
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, Illustrator)
