SUMMARY: We currently have an opening for a dynamic HR Intern to join our growing organization. This position is on-site at our Conover, NC manufacturing plant. This role will be a temporary position, lasting approximately 3 months.
The HR Intern will primarily be responsible for day-to-day recruiting functions, including but not limited to: job postings, candidate outreach/setting appointments, candidate sourcing, preliminary interviewing, candidate selection, background checks, assisting with on-site interviews/tours, offer letters, and pre-boarding activities to include on-site rapid drug tests and other duties as assigned primarily for manufacturing positions to start. new hire paperwork, first day instructions and confirmations, making badges, assigning lockers, E-Verify, handling meals for orientations, uploading files and other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: In addition to those listed in the Summary section above, the following are duties necessary for the position
- Responsible for full life cycle recruiting activities for manufacturing production candidates to include sourcing, resume screening/submittal, interviewing, assessments, presenting offers, and onboarding activities.
- Source internal and external candidates using internal job posting process, direct sourcing, internet, social media, employee referrals, job fairs, and networking.
- Work closely with HR representatives and field management to provide extraordinary customer service and to provide timely updates.
- Timely scheduling and logistics coordination of candidate pre-screening and interviews.
- Occasionally handle new hire onboarding paperwork.
- Provide excellent customer service to the candidates, hiring managers, and Human Resource team in the field.
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned. This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Recent graduate or current student working towards a Bachelors or Associates Degree in Human Resources or relevant field preferred but not required.
- Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to constructively and positively influence others; self-starter with high accountability.
- Excellent customer service skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate with all levels of employees, candidates, and external parties.
- Proficient in the use of all recruitment tools including social media, software, etc.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and HRIS.
- Ability to maintain and safeguard confidential information and provide a positive image for the company in all situations.
- Ability to analyze and define problems, prioritize workflow, multitask, meet deadlines and remain flexible.
- Stay fluent with employment laws as they relate to recruitment and onboarding processes.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to details.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to office, warehouse, and plant environments. The work environment will require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in certain areas. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
