What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructor of Criminal Justice position at Cameron University?
The Department of Social Sciences seeks a full-time, Instructor of Criminal Justice to begin teaching in August 2026. Responsibilities include teaching a wide array of Criminal Justice classes at all undergraduate levels based on faculty expertise/training and program needs. Faculty are expected to teach in multiple formats, including distance learning, online, and face to face, perform department and university service, and support student scholarship. Other responsibilities include student advisement, assisting with program and department assessment and development, and supporting student organizations and events. Other duties as required. Area of specialization is open.
Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree in Sociology, Criminal Justice, or a related field with broad expertise in law enforcement, criminology, and corrections.
Preferred Qualifications
PhD in Sociology, Criminal Justice, or a related field with broad expertise in law enforcement, criminology, and corrections, three years teaching experience in higher education, and familiarity with teaching research methods. Expertise in online teaching and Quality Matters would be a plus, as would experience as a practitioner in criminal justice or a related field.
Salary Range
Commensurate with education and work experience.
