Position: Project Manager

Reports to: Engineering Department Leader
Position Description: Responsibility to manage tooling projects (progressive and transfer die built from receipt of order to job follow up including communication to all internal departments regarding job and external customer interaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Quoting/Estimating
- Estimating of quotes and engineering changes
Job Follow Up
- Design and Pattern Reviews
- Checking Fixture Requirements
- Job Kick off Meeting.
- BOM to Purchasing
- Engineering Changes
- Involved in all shipping requirements.
- Buyoff Paperwork
- Customer required paperwork, etc.
- Checklists
- Maintenance of Engineering, Bench and Buyoff Books
- Job kick-off checklist (beginning of job)
- Shipping checklist (end of job)
- Required customer forms.
- Job Closure Meeting (things done right, things done wrong)
Customer Liaison
Customer contact person for product information, inquiries, contracts, customer feedback, engineering changes.
Job Communications
- Communicate with all departments involved about job from start to finish.
- Communicate with Engineering Team about issues.
- Report at weekly scheduling meeting job status, job hours and percent of completion
- Error tracking throughout job with input from die leaders or department leaders if necessary
- Provide accounting with all documentation required including PO, ECQ, Buyoff paperwork, etc.

Education and Experience:
• Combination of 5 years tool/die and estimating experience is required. Additional training may be provided by the company as needed. Journeyman Tool and Die Maker a plus.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Must be able to work with customers to define and document requirements, address technical concerns and provide project status.
• Ability to make technical presentations internally and to customers.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Computer literate.
• Background in tool and die industry a plus.
• Background in cad/cam and design a plus.
Physical Demands:
• Some physical effort required.
• Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, bend and move about the facility.
Personal Protective Equipment:
• Safety Glasses required on the shop floor
Work Environment:
• Work performed in a combination of an office and the manufacturing floor
• Some travel required.
