Job Summary
The Cameron School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our collaborative middle school team. The ideal candidate will provide support and instruction to students with diverse learning needs, fostering academic growth. Candidates with knowledge of sensory programming, FBA/BIP development, social skill instruction, and behavior intervention strategies are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with parents, specialists, and other educators.
- Adapt and deliver instructional materials to meet students' needs and IEP goals
- Provide direct instruction in academic and functional skills
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and communication
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and staff professional development
- Support students in developing self-advocacy, social, and life skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
- Valid Wisconsin teacher certificate in Special Education - EBD licensure is preferred. We are willing to work with candidates to obtain proper licensure.
- Experience working with middle school students with disabilities
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Commitment to inclusive education and equity
- Knowledge of assistive technology and differentiated instruction
- Experience with behavior intervention plans (BIP's) and functional behavior assessments (FBA's)
