We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and managing ventilators and IV infusions.
- Perform detailed patient assessments, interpret diagnostic tests such as laboratory results and imaging studies (e.g., CT scans), and develop individualized care plans aligned with best practices.
- Utilize advanced skills such as airway management, aseptic technique, suturing, and catheterization to support patient stability and recovery.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians to coordinate treatment strategies.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Respond swiftly and effectively to emergency situations.
- Educate patients and their families on post-care instructions, discharge planning, and health coaching to promote ongoing recovery at home or in long-term care settings.
Skills
- Extensive critical care experience within ICU settings
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation and case management.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to acute care environments.
- Skilled in advanced procedures including tube feeding management, laboratory specimen collection/processing, phlebotomy, IV insertion/injection administration, and infection control protocols.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics (memory & dementia care), behavioral health patients, and individuals with developmental disabilities or chronic conditions such as long-term dialysis or ostomy care.
