Position Summary:
Maintains a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the hospital. This role includes both general housekeeping and specialized floor care duties to support patient care and overall facility operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and disinfect patient rooms, restrooms, offices, and common areas
- Perform floor care duties including mopping, buffing, stripping, waxing, and carpet cleaning
- Follow infection control and safety protocols at all times
- Properly handle and dispose of waste, including biohazard materials
- Replenish supplies such as paper products and cleaning materials
- Operate and maintain housekeeping and floor care equipment
- Respond to cleaning requests in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Interact courteously with patients, staff, and visitors
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous housekeeping or floor care experience preferred (healthcare setting a plus)
- Ability to operate floor care equipment or willingness to learn
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures preferred
- Strong attention to detail and reliability
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift as needed
