What are the responsibilities and job description for the QC/QA Assistant Inspector position at Cameron Manufacturing & Design Inc?
This is an Entry Level position with a pay range of $17.59 - $20.79 Per Hour
Position:
Review packaging materials and photograph finished products prior to customer approval and shipment. Provide backup inspection support, including evaluating product criteria (dimensional, functional, and visual) to ensure compliance with customer-provided specifications and assisting production departments with these evaluations. Responsible for creating and maintaining inspection records, maintaining calibration records, and ensuring proper upkeep of Quality Control Department inspection tools and equipment. Initiate Corrective Action Reports as required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review packaging materials, take pictures of finished product prior customer approval and shipment of product.
- This position will also provide backup inspection support.
- Inspect/Audit manufactured products, incoming material as required, and goods going to or, returning from, subcontractors (for further processing) for compliance to the appropriate specifications. Inform the appropriate personnel of the results.
- Provide in-process and First Article inspections as required.
- Maintain necessary calibration records, schedule/conduct the periodic calibration of all inspection devices (QA?s & productions), repair or replace devices as necessary.
- Maintain all records related to Quality Control/Quality Assurance (in-process inspection, final audits, ISO audits, gauge calibration, weld & NDT certifications, material certifications, Corrective Action Reports, etc.)
- Maintain the necessary supplies for QA/QC Inspection Dept.
- Enforce compliance to corporate Quality Manual
- Remain flexible and provide assistance where reasonable to ensure product quality to the customer
- Other Duties as Necessary.
Skills & Characteristics:
- Some experience with sheet metal forming, welding and assembly preferred.
- Basic understanding in mathematics including geometry and some trigonometry (figuring angles and length of sides of triangles)
- Drawing (blueprint) interpretation including complex drawings and multi-page formats
- Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD & T) symbols and interpretation
- Preferred skills in use of ?basic? measuring devices including, but not limited to, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, tape measures, protractors, fillet gauges, radius gauges, gauge pins, gauge blocks, etc.
- Good people skills including communication, training and constructive feedback as required
