JOB TITLE: RN Education Specialist
SHIFT: .6 FTE, 48 hours, Part-time, Bi-weekly
Summary/Objective
The Registered Nurse assists in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating education for Cameron Health. The Registered Nurse specialist provides exceptional educational opportunities through simulation, debriefing, innovative teaching strategies and provides highly engaging education to staff, students and community. Assists with competency development.
Essential Functions
- Knowledge of and supports Cameron Health’s Core Values.
- Demonstrates excellent use of computer technology.
- Assists in planning and providing education programs and interacts effectively with all Cameron Health Employees.
- Works under the direction of the Director of Education to assist with education department goals.
- Must have experience with simulation technology or willingness to learn.
- Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to engage others in educational and outreach activities.
- Must maintain accurate records of education statistics.
- Provides support for Cameron Health Education ensuring accuracy and reflection of latest standards.
Licenses/Certifications
- Registered Nurse in good standing with the State of Indiana.
Education
- Registered Nurse
- Bachelor of Science from an accredited institution
- Simulation Certification an asset
Experience
- At least 2 years of nursing experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of nursing skills
- Experience with high-fidelity simulation an asset
- Teaching experience preferred
Skills/Competencies
- Able to effectively communicate verbally, in English, to individuals as well as large or small groups.
- Proficiant use of computer and other office equipment.
- Has flexibility of lifestyle to accommodate needs of the department such as being available for evening classes.
- Dependable.
