JOB TITLE: Manager of Respiratory Therapy
SHIFT: .8 FTE, 64 hours bi-weekly, Days

Summary/Objective
Responsible for efficient and effective operations of Respiratory Therapy and Cameron Sleep Center Services. Position is responsible for fostering communication and positive relationships with both medical and clinical staff within the hospital. Responsible for departmental budgets in conjunction with CNO, compliance with regulatory agencies (JCAHO, Medicare, and the ODH), marketing of services both internally and externally, and responsible for continual staff development.
Essential Functions:
- Manages the day-to-day operations and provides 24- hour leadership and accountability for the clinical practice and operational function for the areas of responsibility, Respiratory Department (both inpatient and outpatient) and Sleep Lab.
- Ensures the quality of direct and indirect patient care by collaborating intra/interdepartmentally with staff, colleagues, administration, physicians, and others.
- Effectively manages material, technical, fiscal, and human resources within the departments and looks for opportunities to optimize, including EPIC.
- Delegates appropriately, demonstrates critical thinking to assure delivery of safe, quality, population specific care.
- Evaluates Process Improvement initiatives and works with staff to develop or improve workflow and processes.
- Adheres to organizational policies and procedures; regulatory/accrediting body requirements; and professional practice standards.
- Responsible for department budgets in conjunction with service line manager and administration. Completes reports and justifications for budgets monthly.
- Evaluates and optimizes staffing models and ensures adequate staff coverage.
Skills/Competencies:
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (must be certified before being scheduled for patient care),
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (must be certified within 3 months of hire date).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (must be certified within 3 months of hire date)
- Neonatal Resuscitation course completion (must be completed within 3 months of hire date.
Qualifications:
Experience
- Previous experience in a Clinic setting preferred
Certifications/License Requirements:
- NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Licensed by Indiana Respiratory Care Board
- Current CPR (BLS), ACLS, and NRP certification required or obtained within 6 months of hire.
- PALS certification required or obtained within 12 months of hire.
Education:
- Associates of Applied Science degree from an accredited university for Respiratory Therapy.
- Current Indiana RT License.
