JOB TITLE: Manager - Environmental Services
SHIFT: 80 Hours, 1.0 FTE, Bi-Weekly, Days

Summary/Objective
The Environmental Services Manager is responsible for the daily execution of departmental operations. The Manager will provide leadership, direction, and management oversight for continuous improvement of the standard EVS operating model within the facility; Provides staff leadership, making sound business decisions in support of the hospital’s mission and vision. Demonstrates leadership in providing an optimal environment for patient care, safety, service, and value. Manages the day-to-day operations of the department; ensures a consistently high level of cleanliness and aesthetics for patients, visitors, and staff.
Essential Functions
Daily Operations and Performance
- Manage daily EVS operations and clerical work (data entry, forms, etc)
- Ensuring staffing, assignments, and productivity meet standards
- Owns room turnaround times, cleaning quality, and service response
- Identifies and resolves operational issues
People Management
- Responsible for hiring, onboarding, coaching, discipline, evaluations, and attendance management
- Builds a culture of accountability and ownership
Quality, Training, and Competency
- Oversee onboarding and annual competencies
- Ensure proper use of chemicals, PPE, and equipment
- Coordinates training with Infection Prevention
Hazardous Materials and Waste Management Execution
- Operational lead for Hazardous Materials and Waste Management
- Ensures staff compliance with waste segregation, labeling, storage, and transport
- Maintains logs, manifests, and required documentation
Supplies, Equipment, and Vendor Coordination
- Manages chemical and supply inventory
- Oversees equipment readiness and preventive maintenance
- Coordinates vendors and identifies capital needs
Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum five (5) Years in environmental services and/or acute care related service departments.
Skills/Competencies
- Ability to clearly and effectively articulate and present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Exhibits excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Positive energy, creativity, and teamwork among colleagues across all functional areas.
- Knowledge windows applications, MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoints, and SharePoint.
Education
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

- None
Certifications
- Designated trainer status for Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (T-CHEST) or Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician (T-CSCT) a plus.
Supervisor Responsibilities
- One Year in Supervisory level experience managing and scheduling staff
