Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Associate Attorney role based in Cookeville, TN. The Associate Attorney will manage a varied caseload, including matters within his/her practice area of choice. Daily responsibilities include client intake and counseling, legal research, drafting pleadings, and preparing discovery. The role involves negotiating settlements, appearing in court for hearings and trials, and collaborating with senior attorneys on case strategy. The Associate Attorney will also maintain organized case files, track deadlines, and communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active license (or immediate eligibility for licensure) to practice law in Tennessee.
- Upstanding character and
high level of professionalism
Intention to practice excellent
- ethical standards, including confidentiality and respect for clients, opposing parties, and judiciary personell.
- Proficiency in providing clear, practical legal advice to clients, with sound professional judgment and compassion.
- Effective negotiation abilities for settlements, and or plea discussions.
- Strong written and oral advocacy skills, including drafting pleadings and presenting arguments in court.
- Strong organizational ability to manage case load with or without adminiatrative assistance.
- Ability to manage multiple cases, prioritize deadlines, and work collaboratively in a small firm environment.
- Desire to work in a team / family environment.
- Prior experience in litigation or relevant internships/clinics is preferred but not required for otherwise qualified candidates.
