Job Summary
Join Camellia! Camellia is a Japanese & ESL tutoring school for children and adults of all ages and skill levels. Tutors will be assigned students as needed. Camellia has been operating for more than 5 years, and is a growing business. Ideal candidate will possess fluency and proficiency in Japanese, and strong lesson planning skills. Camellia is located in a residence, and space is available during times not used. However, depending on the schedule tutor must arrange with the students when and where they will teach. Camellia has many materials, but tutors are welcome to use their own materials.
Duties
- In charge of a student an hour or two per week in different skill areas, and goals
- be passionate about the learning of the students, and always incorporate their goals and needs in the lessons
- Devise lesson plans, and plan activities for the lessons
- Keep communications about the lessons and progress of the students with head tutor
Skills
- Native, or fluency in the Japanese language
- Have graduated high school, or equivalent
- Experience in teaching, and confidence in lesson planning
- Experience in working with children, or a responsible, and caring outlook in working with children
- Insight and interest in Japanese culture
- strong Japanese vocabulary knowledge
- Experience traveling or living in Japan is a plus
