Dietary Cook
Camellia Gardens Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated and experienced Dietary Cook to join our team at our skilled nursing facility in Henderson, NC. In this role, you will prepare nutritious, high-quality meals while ensuring compliance with food safety standards and meeting the dietary needs of our residents. Responsibilities
Prepare and cook meals in accordance with planned menus, therapeutic diets, and physician-ordered dietary restrictions.
Ensure food is prepared, portioned, and served in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
Follow proper food handling, storage, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local dietary and food safety regulations.
Keep kitchen equipment, workstations, and food preparation areas clean, organized, and sanitized.
Monitor food temperatures and maintain accurate food safety records as required.
Work collaboratively with the Dietary Manager and healthcare team to meet residents' nutritional needs.
Provide courteous, friendly, and professional service to residents, visitors, and fellow team members.
Assist with other dietary department duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Current ServSafe Certification (or the ability to obtain certification as required).
Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous experience as a cook in a healthcare, long-term care, hospital, or institutional food service setting is preferred.
Knowledge of therapeutic diets, food safety practices, and sanitation standards.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong teamwork, communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to perform the physical demands of the position and work safely in a healthcare environment.
