Role Description The Assistant Softball Coach is a part-time, on-site role located at Camden County College’s Blackwood, NJ campus. This position supports the Head Softball Coach in all aspects of the softball program, including planning and leading practices, assisting with game strategy, and providing skill development and feedback to student-athletes. Promoting sportsmanship, and ensuring compliance with college, conference, and NJCAA rules and regulations. The Assistant Coach helps with recruiting prospective student-athletes, maintaining equipment and practice facilities. The position also involves fostering a positive team culture that emphasizes safety, respect, and personal growth.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of softball fundamentals, rules, and game strategy.
- Ability to plan and lead skill-focused practices, provide constructive feedback, and support athlete development and conditioning.
- Commitment to academic support, student success, development of community college student-athletes.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with coaches, staff, and diverse student populations.
- Organizational and time-management skills.
- Availability for practices, games, and occasional evening or weekend responsibilities as required by the softball schedule.
CPR/First Aid certification and must have a valid driver’s license.
