MAJOR DUTIES
Knowledge Required By The Position
The Fire Administrative Manager assigns work in terms of general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures, accuracy, and the nature and propriety of the final results.
GUIDELINES
Guidelines include department billing procedures, HIPAA regulations, and department and county policies and procedures. These guidelines require judgement, selection, and interpretation in application.

Job Summary

- Processes department invoices for payment.
- Prepares bank deposits.
- Answers telephone and directs callers; provides information and assistance.
- Receives and processes incoming mail.
- Verifies and processes travel invoices for approved departmental travel.
- Maintains files and prepares correspondence.
- Answers billing questions for transported patients and processes payments; coordinates payment billing information with third-party billing representative; reviews collections list.
- Prepares invoices for patient records.
- Prepares and distributes patient reports in compliance with HIPAA and other legal requirements.
- Maintains asset list and prepares work orders.
- Performs other work as required or when directed by administration.
- In the event of an emergency, all Camden County employees are considered essential and may be required to perform alternate duties.
Knowledge Required By The Position
- Knowledge of EMS billing principles and practices.
- Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping practices.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
- Skill in the use of computers and job-related software programs.
- Skill in the operation of modern office equipment.

Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
