What are the responsibilities and job description for the Specialist - Business Development (53709) position at Camco Chemical?
This position supports our Business Development growth efforts by generating new business opportunities & leads through independent lead prospecting, research, cold calling, and networking. This role will also support Sales Ops process by working cross functionally with Purchasing, Operations, Technical, EH&S and Account Management to on-board new business opportunities.
- Prepare quotes and manage Sales Ops process for new business opportunities
- Ability to independently follow & work through defined sales process
- Proven track record of prospecting, developing and closing new opportunities, leads and achieving sales target goals
- Research product & industry specific prospects and create a full list of potential prospects & trade shows that the Business Development Leadership team can use for prospecting
- Identify key players (Influencers, Decision Makers, etc.) within potential prospects & gain interest
- Meet a minimum contacts per week & month target for new business opportunities and maintain/track within CRM tool. Inbound lead follow-up & outbound cold calls and emails.
- Willingness & ability to travel and meet with customers, prospects & industry events as needed
- Self-motivated and able to work independently to meet & exceed goals.
- Ability to effectively present our core competencies & capabilities as well as identify target market opportunities.
- Ability to maintain multiple opportunities through long sales cycle process
- Provide support through contract negotiation
- Ability to identify target customers, sell our strengths and capabilities as an industry leader in contract manufacturing and close new business opportunities/partnerships
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal & written) with internal/external prospects, clients and Camco team members
- Demonstrated experience & track record of effectively communicating value proposition
- Demonstrated ability of critical thinking & problem-solving skills
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook & MS Teams
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales or related field preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in cold calling sales and/or account management
