The Finance Manager is for overseeing daily accounting operations, managing a team of staff accountants, and ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, deep accounting knowledge, and a commitment to excellence. This position will report directly to Chief Financial Officer.
What you will do:
Team Leadership & Supervision
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of staff accountants to achieve departmental goals.
- Assign, monitor, and review the work of accounting staff to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify training opportunities.
Accounting Operations
- Oversee daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger reconciliations, and payroll processing.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulatory requirements.
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and adjustments.
Financial Reporting
- Assist in preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and provide analysis to support decision-making.
- Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
- Coordinate with external auditors during audits and assist in the preparation of audit schedules.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities for improving accounting processes and implementing best practices.
- Leverage technology to enhance efficiency in financial operations and reporting.
Who you are and what you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required;
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years of experience in a supervisory role.
- FQHC experience required.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- EPIC Experience – Preferred
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail.
