Duties

• Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine care needs.
• Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and other treatments following strict aseptic techniques and medical documentation standards.
• Monitor patients’ conditions closely, utilizing advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or Cerner to document care activities accurately.
• Manage airway support with ventilators, perform tube feedings, and provide acute pain management tailored to individual patient requirements.
• Respond swiftly to emergencies by implementing airway management, trauma medicine protocols, and critical care procedures within an ICU or Level I Trauma Center environment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and long-term care strategies for diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Maintain infection control standards and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while delivering safe, compassionate patient care during every shift.

Requirements

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license with current state certification.
• Proven experience in critical care settings such as ICU, emergency room, or trauma centers; familiarity with Level I or Level II trauma center protocols is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
• Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate medical documentation and patient record management.
• Experience in diverse clinical areas including medical-surgical units, post-acute care settings, hospice & palliative medicine, or home & community care is preferred.
• Ability to perform complex procedures such as suturing, phlebotomy, catheterization (including urinary and vascular), laboratory specimen collection/processing, and aseptic technique adherence.
• Excellent assessment skills for triage situations involving emergency medicine or urgent care scenarios; familiarity with infectious disease care and occupational health protocols is advantageous.
