Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive preoperative patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and physiology evaluation to determine anesthesia needs.
- Develop and implement individualized anesthesia care plans tailored to each patient's condition, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and critically ill patients.
- Administer anesthesia medications and injections with precision, ensuring effective pain management and patient comfort.
- Monitor patient vital signs, airway management, and overall physiological responses during surgical procedures using advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic or other EHR platforms.
- Manage airway devices and respond swiftly to airway emergencies, demonstrating expert airway management skills.
- Document all aspects of anesthesia care accurately in medical documentation systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations and NCQA standards.
- Collaborate with surgical teams, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to ensure seamless patient care throughout hospital or ICU experiences.
Skills
- Proven critical care experience with a strong foundation in physiology and anatomy knowledge essential for complex patient assessments.
- Extensive experience in anesthesiology practices across various settings including hospital environments, ICU units, pediatrics, and geriatrics.
- Expertise in airway management techniques and medication administration tailored to diverse patient needs.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, patient monitoring tools, vital signs analysis, and pain management strategies.
- Skilled in using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic for accurate medical documentation and patient record keeping.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
