Description Of Service Opportunity
The CPS SOARS! program is a four week summer learning experience for current grade K-4 students with
demonstrated academic need. Each classroom will have one teacher, one paraprofessional, and up to 15
students.
The Summer Art Teacher will provide grade-specific art classes on a rotating schedule throughout the week to
students in the CPS SOARS! camp.
The CPS Summer Art teacher, under the direction of the Summer Principal, Summer Program Lead, and Executive
Director of Academics, will be responsible for

Time
Teachers must have the ability to teach students with a range of learning needs in multi-age classrooms. MA DESE licensure in Visual Arts, English as a Second Language, and/or Moderate Disabilities preK-8 preferred. Priority will be given to regularly appointed teachers from Cambridge Public School District.
Length Of Contract
July 1, 2026 to July 31, 2026
Contract Amount
Not exceed $5750.00
Please note that your hourly rate is dependent upon your collective bargaining agreement or individual hourly rate. If you are a non-exempt employee and have worked more than 40 hours a week, you will be paid time and a half for any hours worked over 40 hours

- Providing a fun, safe, theme-based summer learning experience that promotes high expectations for all
- Collaborate with program principals and instructional staff to design lessons that align with district
- Facilitating grade appropriate art projects and activities for students.
Dates
May 1–June 30, 2025
- 15 hours of orientation, program planning, and curriculum training
- Specific dates communicated with job offer

- 10:00-3:00 p.m. (teacher work day, July)
