The Office of Student Services (OSS) is responsible for providing a variety of supports and services to students in Cambridge Public Schools (CPS). Our programs are dedicated to ensuring equitable access and success for students with disabilities and students who have advanced learning needs.
The Opportunity
The Peabody School is seeking a talented Kindergarten ETS to join our caring and innovative learning community. The successful candidate will have experience planning, implementing, and adapting curriculum based on the Massachusetts State Frameworks and the Common Core. S/he will set high expectations for all students and utilize scaffolding and differentiation to support students. The teacher will have an appreciation and awareness of the unique developmental needs of young people in this age band. As a professional, the ETS will display a collegial spirit that supports and enhances continual professional growth consistent with the educational goals and philosophies of the Peabody School and will be fully committed to continuously learning, improving, reflecting, and working together as a community to ensure that all students achieve at high levels.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with all team members, including but not limited to special educators, instructional coaches, paraprofessionals, interventionists, and other support personnel
- Incorporate a variety of assessment strategies, including district-wide exams and formative assessment in order to inform instruction and target intervention and enrichment needs
- Integrating social learning into the classroom will work to foster a safe, caring, and active learning community
- Partner with families and include them in the students’ learning and development as well as encourage families to further the mission of the school
- Build on established partnerships with surrounding community institutions and organizations
As the incoming Kindergarten Teacher, you will possess many, though perhaps not all, of the following characteristics and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
- At least two years of full-time classroom instruction
- Massachusetts State Early Childhood certification is required
- Experience working in an urban educational setting, including the ability to work successfully with students, colleagues, and families from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds preferred
- A strong work ethic, alongside a commitment to doing whatever it takes for students to excel
