About Cambridge Montessori School

Cambridge Montessori School is a joyful and inclusive learning community serving children from 18 months through 8th grade that provides education September- June as well as an 8 week summer camp for children 18 months- 11 years old. Position Overview

We are seeking a caring, thoughtful Registered Nurse (RN) to join our community as a part-time School Nurse and part-time Summer Camp Nurse. This role is an integral part of student life, supporting not only day-to-day health needs but also contributing to a culture where children feel safe, cared for, and ready to learn.

The ideal candidate brings both clinical expertise and a deep appreciation for working with children in a collaborative, relationship-centered environment.

Please note- This is a 12 month, part time role which includes our 8 week summer camp (June- August).

What You’ll Do

• Provide compassionate, student-centered care for illness, injury, mental health and everyday acute needs.
• Support students with chronic conditions through individualized care and thoughtful coordination.
• Partner closely with families, faculty, and healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
• Manage a medical grant provided by the MA Department of Public Health.
• Perform requirements of the grant including health screenings, monthly reports and more.
• Maintain student health records and ensure compliance with state requirements.
• Promote wellness, prevention, and healthy habits across the school community.
• Serve as a calm, trusted presence for students navigating both physical and emotional needs.
• Be willing to jump into classrooms to provide support to teachers and assistants as needed. 
• Opportunities to teach health/sexual education classes to upper elementary and middle school levels.

Who You Are

• A licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Massachusetts with current CPR/AED certification (opportunity to re-certify depending on date of hire).
• Experienced in pediatrics, school nursing, or community health (preferred).
• A strong communicator who values partnership with families and colleagues.
• Organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently.
• Grounded, compassionate, and able to meet children with patience and empathy.
• Interested in or aligned with Montessori values and a whole-child approach.
• Growth mindset, willingness to learn and take feedback.

Compensation & Benefits

• School holidays and vacations
• $30-$35/hour based on experience.
• Flexible weekly schedule- TBD upon hire
